Governor Kemp Brian: School’s “Divisive Decision” to Replace Pledge of Allegiance with Wolf Pack Chant Reflects Poorly on Georgia, Values

(Athens, GA) – In response to Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School’s decision to replace the Pledge of Allegiance with the Wolf Pack Chant in their morning meeting, conservative businessman and Republican gubernatorial nominee Brian Kemp issued the following statement:

“There’s no question about it. Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance is the right thing to do,” said Kemp. “At school, students should stand united to honor the flag, our country, and those who have sacrificed for our freedom.

“I agree with Speaker Ralston that we must determine if our hard-earned tax dollars are best used at a school that forces young Georgians to adopt anti-American ideology. This ill-advised, divisive decision reflects poorly on our state and our values.”
