(Athens, GA) – Today, Governor Nathan Deal announced a record year for Georgia’s motion picture and television industry, which generated $2.7 billion in direct spending and a total economic impact of $9.5 billion during 2018.

In response to Governor Nathan Deal’s exciting announcement, conservative businessman and Republican nominee Brian Kemp issued the following statement:

“Thanks to the vision and leadership of Governors Perdue and Deal, Georgia’s entertainment industry continues to grow,” said Kemp. “These feature films, television shows, and commercials create thousands of jobs for hardworking Georgians while generating billions in wages, local tax revenue, spending, and economic impact.

“As governor, I will push to preserve the Georgia film tax credit so studios can expand their footprint and invest in our communities. We will do our part to keep Georgia the top filming location in the country.”
