(Athens, GA) – Today, Kemp for Governor released a statement on Stacey Abrams’ lingering tax scandal.

“Stacey Abrams is a Yale educated tax attorney who made over $1 million. Instead of paying her $54,000 delinquent tax bill, Abrams gave $50,000 to her campaign for governor,” said Ryan Mahoney, Communications Director.

“In light of these undeniable facts, Georgia voters are demanding answers.

“Why did Abrams loan the campaign $50,000 in the same year she told the IRS she could not pay her $54,000 in back taxes?

“Are Stacey Abrams’ political ambitions more important to her than funding education and other critical government services?

“Did Stacey Abrams lie to the IRS about her financial status or lie to Georgia voters about her priorities?

“Hardworking Georgians throughout our state are demanding answers. It’s time for Abrams to come clean instead of dancing around the truth.”
