WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Representative John Rose (TN-6) spoke on the House Floor Thursday to address the ongoing baby formula shortage and the response from the Biden Administration.

The full speech, as prepared for delivery, is below:

Madam Speaker, today I rise in support of Middle Tennessee mothers and fathers worried about finding baby formula to feed their children.

My heart especially goes out to those looking for specialty formulas. My 13-month-old son, Sam, uses a formula for sensitive stomachs. My wife and I struggled for some time to find a formula that worked for him.

There is no excuse that in the United States of America, the world’s most productive bastion of capitalism, that parents cannot find enough baby formula to feed their newborns and are forced to rely on formula imported from foreign countries.

Unbelievably, this very serious problem, like so many others currently plaguing our country, is what you get when you have a President of the United States who is constantly asleep at the wheel.
