Governor Brian Kemp: Abrams Fought for Sex Offenders, Not Georgia Families

(Athens, GA) – Radical Stacey Abrams is running on an extreme agenda to turn Georgia into the next California and make our families less safe. During her tenure in the Georgia General Assembly, Abrams made a series of votes to undermine law enforcement and threaten public safety.

In 2008, Abrams voted against legislation (HB 908) that would ban registered sex offenders from loitering within 1000 feet of schools and childcare facilities. She fought for sex offenders instead of fighting for Georgia families.

“Brian Kemp is a husband, father, and businessman who is running for governor to keep our families safe and our future bright,” said Cody Hall, Press Secretary. “He has detailed plans to tackle crime and an unwavering commitment to supporting law enforcement officers in Georgia.

“Obviously, Stacey Abrams is more concerned with advancing her radical agenda than protecting our children and communities from criminals. Her vote against HB908, which bans sex offenders from childcare centers and school playgrounds, is frightening. Why would she want perverts and pedophiles to linger around innocent children?

“From walking on a vote to crush sex trafficking to opposing legislation to keep Georgia families safe from gangs, sex offenders, and crime, Stacey Abrams is clearly unfit to be governor and too extreme for Georgia.”
