John Gibbs, who is seeking to unseat Rep. Peter Meijer to represent Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District, congratulates Matt DePerno and Kristina Karamo, Michigan Attorney General and Secretary of State candidates respectively endorsed by President Trump, on their great victories at the Michigan GOP state convention on Saturday. Gibbs also commends all of the other great candidates who scored victories, as well as the hard work put in by those who did not win.
“Democracy is hands-on, and more and more people are taking it by the horns. The Founding
Fathers would be proud”, remarked Gibbs, who has a 19-point lead over Peter Meijer according to recent independent polling. The victories also showcased the continued leadership that President Trump exercises among patriotic Americans and in the Republican Party.
Continued Gibbs, “The triple shock of COVID, the 2020 election, and extremist education policies
have caused a strong reaction and compelled a record number of concerned Americans to stand up and take part in our democratic process, even many who have never been involved in politics
before. This was evident at our convention on Saturday.” The John Gibbs campaign fully welcomes this broader and more energetic engagement in our civic process and hopes it continues into the long-term.
Throughout the entire day, Gibbs, who has the endorsement of both President Trump and Dr. Ben
Carson, received a positive reaction from countless patriots from both his own 3rd Congressional
District and from all around the state. “Everywhere we turned, delegates were reaching out to us,
wanting to learn more about my campaign and how we plan to represent the district’s interests in
Washington, not those of an elite, political class.” Peter Meijer, meanwhile, stood near a corner
surrounded by staff and security guards almost the entire day, hardly interacting with any delegates at all, presumably for fear of backlash for voting to impeach President Trump.
While serving in the Trump administration as Acting Assistant Secretary for Community Planning
and Development at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Gibbs worked with Secretary Carson to fight the swamp. “Delegates told me on Saturday they want me to continue that fight, and I promise to do that as a conservative, pro-life, pro-guns, pro-America candidate who wants to protect your vote at the ballot box,” said Gibbs.
