STATEMENT ON CNN FAKE NEWS ATTACK

Michigan

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

John Gibbs, who is seeking the Republican nomination to represent Michigan's 3rd Congressional District, released the following statement on CNN's latest attack piece against him:

"I could not be more honored to be attacked yet again by CNN (Certainly Not News), the world's biggest purveyor of fake news, misinformation, and disinformation. This is the same network which refused to fact check a Supreme Court nominee who claimed not to know the definition of male and female. This network promotes blatant fake news, such as claiming that the war in Russia is responsible for high gas prices, even though a simple check reveals that gas prices were increasing long before Joe Biden's ineptitude caused the current Ukraine conflict. This is the network which had the audacity to call the violent Antifa riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, a "fiery but mostly peaceful protest", even though those violent riots caused more than $50 million in damage to that great city.

And now, they attack me for stating the fact that the results of the 2020 election were mathematically anomalous. It is a fact that no President since the 1800's has gotten more votes their second run than their first run, yet still lost the election. And it is a fact that President Trump won 18 of 19 bellwether counties yet still lost - a feat unprecedented in history and almost certainly mathematically impossible. Nothing in CNN's verbal mishmash of a hit piece changes these facts.

Frankly, if any politician is not being attacked by CNN, it should raise a red flag. To that point, you can expect the Fake News industry to continue to coddle my RINO primary opponent Peter Meijer, while they attack me for standing up to their propaganda."
