Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga (R-MI) released the following statement after voting against the gateway to President Biden and Nancy Pelosi’s reckless spending spree.

“A truly bipartisan infrastructure package could have garnered widespread support by focusing on hard infrastructure such as roads, bridges, highways, pipelines, and rural broadband,” said Congressman Bill Huizenga. “Senator Shelley Moore Capito laid out a much more fiscally responsible and targeted approach to infrastructure that was sadly rejected by Democrats. Instead, President Biden and Speaker Pelosi cut a deal with the far-left members of their caucus and directly tied ‘infrastructure’ to their $4 trillion spending spree. By tying these measures together, Democrats have created a $5.2 trillion spending monstrosity. I will not support legislation that spends more than necessary and opens the door for trillions upon trillions of spending on liberal and socialist priorities.”
