TeleCompetitor: Georgia Allocates a Quarter of a Billion Dollars Towards Broadband Expansion
The state of Georgia announced $240 million in funding to expand broadband throughout the state. The funding will come from the U.S. Treasury $10B Capital Projects Fund program.
The funding will be awarded through a competitive grant program, according to a press release from Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp’s office.

Gov. Kemp is planning to use another $240 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds to expand internet access.
This comes after $408 million worth of grants were dispersed across 49 different internet providers in the state in February to help provide internet access to rural areas.
