The National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2023, supported by Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA), will fund a fleet of Columbia Class Submarines at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
This several billion-dollar investment will eventually replace Kings Bay's current Ohio Class submarine fleet, giving Georgia the 21st century technology it needs to provide our service members with high-quality training and resources.
“An unprepared military benefits no one but our enemies,” said Carter. “By upgrading the submarine fleet at Kings Bay, we are bolstering the First District’s military prowess and investing in the people who invest in our nation’s security. This is an exciting win for our state and the nation. The next generation of submarine pilots have a bright future in Georgia.”
