Today the Committee to Elect Jennifer-Ruth Green responded to news that the U.S. economy went into recession in the second quarter of 2022, the latest devastating economic news resulting from the reckless spending and failed energy policies of President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, and Congressman Frank Mrvan:

“Frank Mrvan can try to run away from his record of rubber stamping Biden-Pelosi economic policies 100% of the time but the bottom line is we’re entering two quarters of negative growth, gas and grocery prices are through the roof, the rate of inflation is outpacing wages, and our labor force is shrinking,” said Kevin Hansberger, Green’s Communications Director. “It’s time for Mrvan to own up to his failed policies and change course. Mrvan should put the best interests of hardworking Hoosier families before his political self-interest and stop doubling down on the failed economic policies of the radical left.”

On the point of accountability, it’s time for someone in the media to ask Mrvan some tough questions about his lockstep support for the Biden-Pelosi economic agenda:

• With inflation surging and families suffering, was voting for trillions in new borrowing, spending, and special interest giveaways a good idea, and would he do it again?

• With gas prices through the roof, would he still support Biden’s efforts to shut down American energy production and energy jobs while begging Saudi oil billionaires for more oil?

• Are there any substantive economic policies where he took on Nancy Pelosi, and if not, how can Hoosier workers have any confidence Mrvan will fight Biden when he lifts steel tariffs on China?
