Rep Carter: Washington Democrats' Socialist Agenda Destroys American Freedoms

U.S. Representative Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) voted against Washington Democrats' "Build More Inflation Act" in House Energy and Commerce Committee full markup, calling it a socialist agenda intended to destroy American freedoms.

“This is not the American way," said Carter. "The Left's "Build More Inflation Act" will hurt our economy and stifle the growth of small businesses nationwide. This is just another example of Speaker Nancy Pelosi refusing to work across the aisle on issues that matter to the American people. That's why the bipartisan vote today was against this bill."

The legislation advanced today by House Democrats would:

  • worsen President Biden's inflation crisis on American families with more liberal wish list spending;
  • make America more reliant on China's supply chains;
  • reward cities that defund the police;
  • support divisive Critical Race Theory in schools;
  • keep our children out of the classrooms by funding teachers' unions;
  • prevent America from enhancing our critical mineral supply and processing;
  • federalize American's electricity grid, undermining the reliability and raising costs; and
  • further raise the cost of cars and gas on American families.

"My district deserves better. The American people deserve better. Hardworking Americans have been stuck with a tab that even our great-grandchildren won’t be able to pay off," Carter concluded.
