Congressman Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-Ga.) has been selected to serve on the House Budget Committee for the 117th Congress.
"The House Budget Committee is more important right now than ever," said Carter. "As Democrats move a 'budget' that is a blank check for the policies of the left and is empty of real long-term budgeting, we need to fight back. Congress owes Americans a responsible budget that supports economic opportunities and hardworking Americans and families. As a member of the Budget Committee, I will stand strong against job-killing policies of the left and fight for a budget that will foster growth, jobs and prosperity as our country continues to recover from COVID-19 pandemic."
“As a small business owner for more than 30 years, Congressman Carter will be a vital part of the work House Budget Committee Republicans are doing to stand up for America’s working class,” said House Budget Committee Republican Leader Jason Smith (MO-08). “The Biden Administration and their Democrat majority in Washington are pushing a radical agenda that will destroy jobs, weaken our economy, and increase the cost of living. I appreciate Congressman Carter joining our team to hold the Administration accountable and advocate for a stronger, more secure, and more prosperous future.”
Carter will serve on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Budget Committee in the 117th Congress.
