Today, Gwinnett County Commissioner Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson (D) endorsed current Georgia’s 7th District Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux for reelection. Chairwoman Hendrickson has worked closely with Congresswoman Bourdeaux throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to address the needs of Gwinnett County.

Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson said, “Congresswoman Bourdeaux has worked hand-in-hand with Gwinnett County to protect our community during the COVID-19 pandemic and set us up for success. I have seen her attention to detail and keen policy focus firsthand, and I know I can trust her to deliver for Gwinnett. We are all fortunate to have her fighting for us in Washington.”

Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux said, “I greatly appreciate Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson’s endorsement for Georgia’s 7th Congressional District. Nicole and I have worked closely to revitalize local abandoned malls, support our transit needs, organize vaccine drives and so much more. Together we'll continue fighting and delivering for our community.”

Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson joins 17 other Gwinnett leaders who have voiced their support for Congresswoman Bourdeaux since announcing her reelection campaign last week. Bourdeaux has earned the trust of Gwinnett’s elected officials by delivering critical priorities, including billions in federal funding to support local COVID-19 efforts and invest in transit and infrastructure.

  • The newly drawn Georgia 7th contains 60% of Congresswoman Bourdeaux’s constituents and is largely located within Gwinnett County, where Rep. Bourdeaux resides.
  • Gwinnett County makes up 87% of Georgia’s newly drawn 7th congressional district.
  • Rep. Carolyn Bourdeaux has won four of her five elections for GA-07. Before winning the seat in 2020, she was narrowly defeated by a Republican incumbent by a mere 443 votes.
  • In 2020, Rep. Bourdeaux won a competitive six-way primary by 40 points, and was the only competitive Democratic pick up in the country, beating a Republican challenger to secure an R+9 seat. She was the only red to blue Democratic pick-up in the country.
