Joe O’Dea Announces Campaign Staff Additions

Denver, CO — Republican U.S. Senate nominee Joe O’Dea announced new additions to his campaign staff.

“I’m excited to add these folks to our crew,” said Joe O’Dea. “They are talented professionals, who have been tested and delivered. We're going to make sure we get our message across this state and gear up to win in November to bring real results for working Americans.”

Carrie Hackenberger — Deputy Campaign Manager

Carrie is an experienced public policy advocate whose skill in the legislative process guides clients through complex challenges and creates valuable opportunities. 

Carrie is a recognized leader within the business community in Colorado and was awarded the 2019 Experience Energy GRIT Award and recognized by the Denver Business Journal in its 2020 list of Outstanding Women in Business and its 2022 list of 40 under 40.  

Carrie is a proud Colorado native and earned her bachelor’s in business administration from Colorado State University and a master’s in global energy management from the University of Colorado in Denver. Go Rams!

Katie Behnke — National Finance Consultant

Katie served as the Finance Director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Prior to joining the NRSC, Katie co-founded the Starboard Group in 2008, which is widely regarded as one of the most influential Republican, business, and right-of-center fundraising consulting firms in the United States. Thanks to Katie’s leadership, the firm boasts a large portfolio of clients, including Congressional, Senatorial, Presidential, non-profit, and statewide ballot initiative campaigns. 

A fifth generation Coloradan, Katie enjoys rooting for her beloved University of Colorado Buffs and the Denver Broncos with her husband, Joel, and their two sons, Zion (6) and Ezekiel “Zeke” (4).

Kyle Kohli — Communications Director

Kyle was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and is a graduate of the University of Colorado and Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.

He joins the O’Dea campaign from Compass Colorado, where he served as Executive Director. Kohli worked for the Republican National Committee as the Colorado Communications Director. Prior to that, Kohli has served as the Colorado Republican Party’s Communications Director and Digital Director for Maryland Governor Larry Hogan.

Joshua Marin-Mora — Deputy Press Secretary

Originally from Reno, Nevada, Joshua lives in Denver and serves as the Communications & Digital Coordinator at Ascent Media. Joshua worked as a Press Assistant for the Glenn Youngkin for Governor campaign in Virginia. 

A graduate of Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, Joshua earned a degree in International Politics. Joshua is fluent in Spanish and has served on multiple campaigns as Spanish-language media liaison.
