O’Dea Challenges Bennet to Three Televised Debates

Colorado

Denver, CO — Political outsider, successful business leader, and Republican nominee for U.S. Senate Joe O’Dea challenges Michael Bennet to three televised debates across Colorado.

One idea is to debate in a red town, a purple town that swings back and forth each election, and a blue town.

In addition to Grand Junction, where the Club 20 debate will take place, O'Dea would welcome debates in Greeley or Durango, Pueblo, Fort Collins, or even Boulder. It is a big wide world outside of downtown Denver.

“I’ve worked for everything in my life—with all different types of people and I’ve learned it doesn’t matter where you’re from, your education, your political party, good ideas come from all over,” said Joe O’Dea.

The O’Dea campaign has confirmed Joe’s participation in the Western Colorado U.S. Senate Candidate Debate hosted by Club 20 in partnership with Colorado Mesa University and the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel on September 10.

“Club 20 is a Colorado tradition that I hope Michael will attend again like he has before. The Western Slope should not be ignored, rural Coloradans have just as much a right to hear directly from the candidates. Michael, let’s make sure we debate the issues in front of the voters outside of Denver.”

Michael Bennet is one of the few statewide elected members of his party who has yet to formally boycott Club 20, a Western Slope institution that traditionally marks the beginning of campaign season in Colorado.

In 2016, Bennet dodged multiple televised debates, with the exception of one in downtown Denver.
