Denver, CO — Political outsider, successful business leader, and Republican nominee for U.S. Senate Joe O’Dea issued the following statement following the Senate’s passage of the “Build Back Tax” inflation reconciliation bill after its vote-a-rama.
“Michael Bennet will do anything Joe Biden wants, including passing a tax on working Americans while the economy is in a recession. Bennet wants to raise your taxes, meanwhile his wealth has grown as much as 600%, or $31 million, since he got to the Senate,” said Joe O’Dea.
“We need to bring manufacturing back to the United States and reduce taxes right now. Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer’s extreme agenda flies in the face of common sense and Michael Bennet is their rubber-stamp in the Senate. Working Coloradans want a fighter to represent them; they want a Senator who will put our country over party.”
According to the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT), IRS expansion in this bill would disproportionately hit low- and middle-income Americans. Americans making less than $100,000 will pay 65-78% of the taxes to pay for this bill. Americans making less than $50,000 will pay 40-57% of the taxes to pay for this bill.
