FERGUSON: THE ERA OF BIG GOVERNMENT IS BACK UNDER BIDEN

U.S. Congressman Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Republican Conference and a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement in response to President Joe Biden’s first joint address to Congress:

“President Biden clearly showed the American people that the era of unrestrained big government is back. Unfortunately, big government will not grow our economy, flowery rhetoric will not create jobs, and empty actions will not protect our nation or defend our citizens.

“Americans heard the president tout his continued efforts to raise taxes, brag about his climate change initiatives, and take credit for Operation Warp Speed, an initiative spearheaded and delivered by President Trump to develop a COVID vaccine in record time.

“While I had hoped the president would take this time to finally provide the country with a coherent strategy for securing our southern border – a disaster of his creation – he once again failed to do so. The speech fell flat, and this administration must stop pandering to the far Left and finally start listening to the will of the American people.

“Make no mistake, this has been the most liberal “first 100 days” in the history of our country. Despite the wishes of those pulling the strings in the administration, President Biden does not have a mandate to turn America into a socialist country. It’s time for his policies to reflect that reality.”
