A recent poll of likely Republican primary voters in Florida’s 13th Congressional District shows Kevin Hayslett statistically tied with Anna Paulina Luna. The poll shows former prosecutor Kevin Hayslett receiving 34% of the primary vote, Luna receiving 36%, and Amanda Makki in a distant third place with 9%.
The poll, which was conducted by American Viewpoint from July 24-27, 2022, surveyed 400 likely Republican primary voters across Florida’s 13th Congressional District. The margin of error was plus or minus 4.9%.
The recent survey findings show Hayslett rapidly building momentum and solidifying support as voters learn more about his Trump Tough record as a former prosecutor who “Faced Down” and prosecuted human traffickers and drug cartels.
- Between a late June internal poll and today, Hayslett’s favorable to unfavorable ratio has gone from 31:6 to 51:21. Luna’s image has gone from 57:15 to 57:28 and Makki’s has gone from 39:9 to 39:16.
- Among those who have an opinion on both Hayslett and Luna (65% of the electorate), Hayslett leads 41%-36% underscoring that Hayslett should be able to build a lead the more defined he becomes.
As a political outsider and first time candidate, Hayslett has skyrocketed to frontrunner status in the FL-13 Republican primary, raising close to $1.2 million in under six months and compiling more cash-on-hand than any of his opponents. The poll shows that there is a clear appetite for an outsider candidate who has what it takes to flip FL-13 red come November.
“Hayslett’s tough-on-crime record and his overwhelming support from law enforcement has proven to voters that he is the only Trump Tough Republican ready to take on Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi,” stated his consultant, Sam Oh. “This type of movement and shift to a first time candidate is unprecedented, and it’s clear – Kevin Hayslett’s message is resonating with voters and he has what it takes to win this seat.”
