The Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police today announced their endorsement of Governor Ron DeSantis for reelection. The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers with over 364,000 worldwide members. The Florida State Lodge represents more than 23,000 law enforcement officers and ranks as the third-largest state lodge in America.
“Florida’s law enforcement officers demonstrate a daily commitment to serving and protecting their communities and making our state a safer place, and we are deeply grateful for their support,” said Governor DeSantis. “But it’s not just the officers who bear the burden of their sacrifices, it’s their families and loved ones, too. I will always have their backs, and never stop standing up for the brave men and women of Florida’s law enforcement.”
“We believe in Governor DeSantis and there is no doubt that he will continue to serve our state and his constituents fairly, and with a focus on safety and prosperity,” said Bobby Jenkins, President of the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police.
Jenkins continued, “The Fraternal Order of Police have worked hand-in-hand with Governor DeSantis and have given him our continued faith in his dedication to his community and to the men and women of law enforcement. Governor Ron DeSantis has shown an understanding of the dangers law enforcement officers encounter and has welcomed conservative, common-sense solutions to the problems and risks we face daily. Through his leadership and actions, Governor Ron DeSantis has restored the faith of Florida’s police officers.”
Today’s announcement marks the third major law enforcement endorsement for Governor DeSantis this week, following Monday’s endorsement from 59 sheriffs across the state and yesterday’s endorsement by the Florida Police Chiefs Association. Including the November 2021 endorsement from the Florida Police Benevolent Association, Governor DeSantis has now been endorsed by every major law enforcement organization in the state.
