ORADELL, NJ — Today, May 31, 2021, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) took part in a wreath laying ceremony at the Oradell World War I Memorial, to honor Memorial Day and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country.
Gottheimer was joined by Oradell Mayor Didio, Council President Schoenberg, Councilmembers Carnevale, Jannicelli, Yu, and Kern, Oradell Police Department Lt. Egg, American Legion Post 41 Oradell, and former Council President Eric Shuler.
“There is no commitment more sacred than the one our nation has to those who have served, which means we must always have the backs of those who’ve had ours,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Here at the Oradell World War I Memorial, we look back and remember the more than 116,000 American lives lost during our First World War. These memories and their stories are something that can easily be overshadowed by our daily routines, but we must not let them. That’s why, on this Memorial Day, I ask that every American pause for an extra moment, remember how blessed we are to breathe the air of freedom, and to remember that our generation stands on the shoulders of the giants who came before us."
