Parsippany, NJ – Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) issued the following statement on the appointment of Shirley U. Emehelu on Acting Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin's leadership team:
"Shirley Emehelu's legal career is a testament to her lifelong commitment to public service. It is critical that we have someone of her character, leadership, and integrity at such a high level at the Attorney General's Office here in New Jersey, especially in a time when constitutional rights and judicial precedent are under attack. During my time as a federal prosecutor, I worked closely with Shirley and saw firsthand her talent and success in implementing innovative reforms in the criminal legal system that protect and improve safety in our state.
