The Ensuring Vaccination and Treatment Affordability Act will eliminate cost-sharing under Medicaid for COVID-19 treatment and vaccinations
Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) introduced legislation to ensure that low-income New Hampshire families who are covered by Medicaid can access COVID-19 treatments and vaccines free of charge.
By waiving cost-sharing under these programs, the Ensuring Vaccination and Treatment Affordability Act will help guarantee vulnerable Granite Staters can receive necessary health services to protect themselves and their families from the virus.
"To effectively combat COVID-19 and ensure our communities are protected, it is essential that everyone has access to treatment and vaccinations," said Congressman Pappas. "This legislation will remove financial barriers for Granite Staters enrolled in Medicaid to ensure they can receive the treatment and vaccinations that will save lives and help us put this pandemic behind us. I promise to continue fighting to ensure all Granite Staters have access to the health care they need to protect themselves and their families during this public health emergency."
Congressman Pappas has fought for key provisions to aid in vaccine development and distribution throughout the pandemic. In December, he voted in favor of a bipartisan COVID-19 and government funding package which included $8.75 billion for federal, state, and local vaccine distribution efforts and nearly $20 billion for vaccine and therapeutics manufacturing. Additionally, Congressman Pappas has sought to expand Granite Staters' access to affordable health care including by reopening the ACA marketplace, a step the Biden Administration announced last week.
