Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that he secured $500,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs in Coastal Monmouth in the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health, and Human Services Subcommittee spending bill for Fiscal Year 2023. The House is expected to vote on the underlying legislation in the coming months.

The Boys & Girls Clubs will use the funding to help support school-aged children who have experienced trauma and abuse in their homes. The Clubs work to empower young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. This money will target Asbury Park, Neptune, Long Branch, and Red Bank.

“We know that children who are survivors of trauma or abuse are at greater risk for developing physical and mental health problems later in life. This funding will allow the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County to continue providing children with a safe and positive environment so they can thrive in the future,” Pallone said. “I’m grateful for all the great work the Boys & Girls Clubs do for our community.  I look forward to seeing this project move through the legislative process.”

“As a community organization at the forefront of youth development, the Club is in a unique position to provide critical programs, interventions, and protective factors needed to support young people,” said Douglas Eagles, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County. “This funding will empower us to expand access to our youth development programs in the communities that need us most.”
