Today, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for and the House of Representatives passed by a vote of 417 to 10 the Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act, bipartisan legislation that expedites the delivery of military equipment to Ukraine through lend-lease agreements.

“It is critical that we provide Ukraine with the military equipment and weapons that they need to fight for their freedom,” said Rep. Feenstra. “By utilizing lend-lease agreements like we did during World War II, we can expedite military support to the brave people of Ukraine. I stand with freedom-loving Ukrainians and against Vladimir Putin’s despicable invasion of Ukraine.”

Lend-lease agreements were used by President Roosevelt during World War II to provide the United Kingdom with military supplies to fight back against the Nazi invasion of Europe.

Last night, Feenstra also voted for bipartisan legislation to seize and sell Russian oligarchs’ ill-begotten assets to fund Ukraine’s recovery as well as legislation to express American support for Moldova – a longtime ally of Ukraine.
