"Today we bid farewell to Woody Williams as he embarks on his final journey," said Congresswoman Miller. "During the Second World War, our Greatest Generation fought valiantly to protect freedom. It is now our duty to honor the sacrifices they made and to keep their memories alive. I can think of no better way to honor Woody’s life, as well as the memory of all World War II veterans, than allowing him to lie in honor is the U.S. Capitol. Woody will be sorely missed, but his legacy of service, dedication, and patriotism will live on through the countless lives he touched. God bless Woody Williams."
