“The CHIPs bill will allow us to make more of the critical semiconductors that we use in everything from vehicles, household appliances, electronics, and high-tech manufacturing equipment.”

Springfield, IL – Today, Nikki Budzinski, candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 13th congressional district, applauded the House passing the bipartisan CHIPs bill to take on China and bring semiconductor supply chains home. The measure passed the U.S. Senate yesterday and is likely to be signed into law next week.

The CHIPs bill would bring needed semiconductor production home, make us less reliant on foreign producers, and help U.S. manufacturers. It will also invest in research and development to help us compete with China over the coming decades, and it will take on Chinese intellectual property theft.

Budzinski made the following statement: “We need to re-invest in making things in the United States, take back the lead in manufacturing, and decrease our reliance on Chinese exports. The bipartisan CHIPs bill will mean American workers make more of the critical semiconductors that we use in everything from vehicles, household appliances, electronics, and high-tech manufacturing equipment.”
