“I am calling on Congress to cap insulin for all Americans and if Regan cares about working people in our community, she will do the same.”

Springfield, IL – Today, Nikki Budzinski, candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 13th congressional district, called out her opponent, Regan Deering, for her opposition to lowering the cost of insulin for seniors across the 13th congressional district. Her campaign will host a roundtable discussion with policy leaders in Springfield later this week on the topic of insulin.

Budzinski has made issues like capping the cost of insulin at $35 for all Americans an important plank in her campaign for Congress. The monthly price of insulin was capped at $35 for those on Medicare. However, Budzinski is calling for Congress to cap the cost of insulin for all Americans at $35, not just those on Medicare.

Budzinski’s Republican opponent, meanwhile, opposes lowering the prices of insulin at all.

Budzinski made the following statement: “My campaign is about finding ways to lower costs for working families as we continue to fight inflation. Capping the cost of insulin at $35 for those on Medicare is a great start, but there is no reason we shouldn’t cap the cost for everyone that needs this cheap and important drug. I am calling on Congress to cap insulin for all Americans and if Regan cares about working people in our community, she will do the same.”
