Washington, DC—Today,U.S. Rep. John Rose (TN-6) voted “No” on Democrats’ so-called Inflation Reduction Act, which has now passed both chambers of Congress and heads to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
The so-called Inflation Reduction Act will:
- Cost $437 billion, $369 billion towards the so-called “green new deal”
- Raise corporate tax rates by as much as 15%
- Enact a 1% excise tax on stock buybacks
- Hire 87,000 new Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents
“Amidst a spending-induced recession and record-breaking price increases for everything, Democrats doubled down on their disastrous policies by ramming through a bill that costs taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars on a party-line vote that will only make matters worse. Without hesitation, I voted ‘No’ to show my support for the small businesses and Middle Tennesseans struggling in the economic environment created by one-party Democrat rule in Washington.”
