Washington, DC -- Today at noon (12:00 PM EST), the Small Business Administration (SBA) is opening applications for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). This $28.6 billion fund is a program created by the recently passed American Rescue Plan, which Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) championed.

The Restaurant Revitalization Fund is designed to help restaurants, bars, and other food-service related businesses who've been impacted by the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic to keep their doors open. The program included in the American Rescue Plan was based on the Restaurants Act of 2021, which Rep. Sherrill co-sponsored earlier this year.

Find out more about the program and apply on the SBA Website. Anyone with questions or difficulty navigating the process can reach out to Rep. Sherrill's office at (973) 526-5668 or sherrill.house.gov.

Rep. Sherrill released the following statement on Restaurant Revitalization Fund applications opening today:

"In March, we passed crucial pandemic relief designed to get shots in arms, get kids back in school, and support our small businesses as we continued to fight this pandemic. The American Rescue Plan as a whole is a landmark piece of legislation that will lay the groundwork for ensuring our economy and our communities come back stronger than ever.

"Today, one of those crucial programs is opening its application process so we can get this critical relief flowing to our restaurants and bars. I encourage every business in NJ-11 that is eligible for this program to apply. Our restaurants and bars are a core component of our communities, not only for commerce but places for family, friends, and communities to gather. As we continue working to put this crisis behind us, they will be more important than ever and key to our effort to fuel the economic recovery in a way that works for every person in our district."
