Washington, DC -- Today, Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), in response to the infrastructure counter proposal offered by Senate Republicans, released the following statement:

"I want to be clear to everyone involved in discussions about what the infrastructure package will ultimately look like -- what Senate Republicans proposed today is simply a non-starter.

"It pointedly excludes a change to the SALT deduction cap which leaves out crucial relief for middle class families in my district.

"With the backing of our recently announced bipartisan SALT Caucus in the House, it's more apparent than ever that any package that does not address the SALT deduction cap will not move. I strongly urge President Biden to reject this new proposal."
