Gov. Reynolds appoints Erik Howe as District Associate Judge

Gov. Kim Reynolds today announced her appointment of Erik Howe as a district associate judge in Judicial Election District 5C.  

Howe, of Polk City, Iowa, currently serves as an Assistant Polk County Attorney. He received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and his law degree from Drake University Law School. 

Howe is the first district associate judge appointed by the Governor following the passage of House File 2481, which took effect on July 1, 2022. He fills a vacancy created by the addition of four new district associate judge positions authorized by the legislature in this year’s session. Judicial Election District 5C includes Polk County.
