Washington, DC – Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) was named to the new Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee, which will have oversight over defense intelligence, counterterrorism, special operations forces, and other crucial national security elements. She also continues to serve on the Tactical Air and Land Forces (TAL) Subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over Picatinny Arsenal.

"My work on the TAL subcommittee has enabled me to be a strong champion for Picatinny Arsenal," said Rep. Sherrill. "The Arsenal is one of our military's foremost centers of innovation, making key advancements in armaments and munitions. I look forward to supporting Picatinny as it continues to lead the way in ensuring our service members have the best, most advanced equipment possible.

"I'm also honored to join the new Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee. It will be at the very forefront of our national security, responsible for counterterrorism, defense intelligence, special operations forces, and countering weapons of mass destruction. Through this subcommittee, I'll be able to help ensure our nation's safety and better promote democratic values across the world."

Picatinny Arsenal, located in the 11th District of New Jersey, is the Army's premier center of excellence for the development of armaments and management of ammunition and executes many of the Army's top modernization priorities.
