Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) issued the following statement after joining President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other congressional leaders at the White House for the signing ceremony for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act:

“I was proud to vote to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act because it is a once-in-a-generation investment in our infrastructure, and the people,” said Congresswoman Williams, who is also a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. “Every family in the Fifth District and state of Georgia will benefit from the $13.6-billion investment headed to our state.

“Today, thanks to the leadership of President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, and my House Democratic colleagues, we delivered a transformational win for the American people. But this is only one step as we continue to implement President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda. Now we must pass the Build Back Better Act so we can make the desperately needed investment in our human infrastructure, too.”
