Today, House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security, Migration, and International Economic Policy Lead Republican Mark Green (R-TN) and House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul (R-TX) released a statement on the State Department’s continued refusal to provide information on U.S. foreign assistance funds associated with the reimplementation of the Migration Protection Protocols (MPP):

“Despite the record level of American deaths from opioid overdoses and unprecedented rate of illegal immigration, the Biden Administration continues its reckless open borders agenda. Over a month ago, House Foreign Affairs Committee Republicans sent a letter to Secretary Blinken asking for the State Department’s plan for the reimplementation of the court-ordered Migration Protection Protocols. As of today, they have ignored our inquiry. With reports of the pending cancellation of Title 42, it is clear the Biden Administration has no plan other than to allow hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants to enter and stay in the U.S. Anything short of maintaining Title 42 and the full, border-wide implementation of MPP will lead to the most dramatic surge at our southern border we have ever seen.”
