WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) hosted a Telephone Town Hall with thousands of North Jersey residents this month, to discuss how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill will help North Jersey, legislation the House recently passed to reinstate the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction, and the new Affordability Agenda for Jersey to tackle the supply chain crisis and cut costs for North Jersey families, seniors, and veterans.
“My telephone town hall this week allowed me to connect with thousands of Fifth District residents, even while I’m here voting in Washington. What’s crystal clear to me is that we need to get costs down for families and small businesses in North Jersey, which is why I launched a new Affordability Agenda for Jersey earlier this week, and why we’re continuing our fight in Congress to restore the SALT deduction to get a tax cut for our families,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “We also discussed how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, which I was proud to help lead and get signed into law, will help build the new Gateway Train Tunnel, fix our crumbling roads and bridges, invest in NJ Transit and our ports, expand broadband access, and get lead out of our children’s drinking water.”
Gottheimer was joined on the telephone town hall by NJ Assemblyman Gordon Johnson, Bergen County Commissioner Tom Sullivan, the President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 164 and the President of the Bergen Building and Construction Trades Council; Knowlton Mayor Adele Starrs, and Pastor Paul Miller from Paramus’ Church of Our Savior.
