Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) is excited to announce that Nacero will build a facility to develop low- and zero-carbon vehicle fuels derived from natural gas in Newport Township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

Congressman Meuser has been steadfast in his support and leadership in encouraging sustainable economic investment in the Ninth District. He was a strong advocate for expanding the Alternative Fuel Tax Credit and the Alternative Fuel Mixture Tax Credit to encourage development of domestic facilities like Nacero's that produce low-emission vehicle fuel derived from natural gas and renewable natural gas. Nacero's fuel products can be used in existing vehicles and will reduce the lifecycle carbon footprint of a vehicle by at least half. Nacero's $6 billion investment in northeast Pennsylvania will have a significant overall economic impact and will create 4,000 high-paying, skilled jobs.

"Nacero's $6 billion investment in Pennsylvania's Luzerne County will create 4,000 jobs, reclaim hundreds of acres of mine scarred land, and advance Pennsylvania's reputation as a leader in energy innovation. The plant's affordable low and zero carbon footprint gasolines will reduce carbon emissions nationally, improve local air quality and reduce our reliance on foreign oil by producing a fuel that Americans can use in the cars they drive today with half the carbon footprint of existing fuels using Pennsylvania natural gas. It will make our region a leading example of what American ingenuity and hardworking Pennsylvanians can achieve. Congressman Dan Meuser would like to thank Senator John Yudichak and Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman for their vision and legislative leadership in making Pennsylvania a competitive state for an investment like this to be possible."-Congressman Dan Meuser
