Just days after launching his campaign, Tim Ryan is proving that he’s ready to flip Ohio blue and to take his fight for Ohio workers all the way to the floor of the U.S. Senate.

  • The Vindicator: “U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan said the focus of his Senate bid will be on helping the working class and the issues that are important to them.”

  • Cincinnati Enquirer: “Ryan is wagering that his appeal to working-class Ohioans can turn the red-leaning state blue again.”

  • Cleveland.com: “Ryan enters the race as the lone Democrat with a political infrastructure in place and enough national connections to mount a competitive bid… A longtime ally of labor, Ryan will have significant backing from unions, both nationally and in Ohio.”

  • Associated Press: “Ryan, 47, becomes the Democratic frontrunner as the party goes after Republican Rob Portman’s seat in what stands to be one of 2022′s most closely watched Senate contests. ‘I am running to fight like hell in the U.S Senate to cut workers in on the deal,’ Ryan said in a video announcing his candidacy. ‘Ohioans are working harder than ever, they’re doing everything right, and they’re still falling behind.’”
Since Monday, Tim has earned endorsements from more than 140 elected officials and dozens of Democratic activists and county chairs in every corner of Ohio, as well as from ten labor unionsrepresenting workers across the state. Here’s what they’re saying about Tim’s early support from all around Ohio:

  • Warren Tribune Chronicle: Ryan’s Senate bid pulls in endorsements

  • Cleveland.com: “…Tim Ryan on Tuesday released a list of endorsements from 130 current and former ‘elected leaders across Ohio’ to convey that the party has unified behind him.”

  • Toledo Blade: “’I know Tim will bring people together to take on the challenges facing our state — from keeping Lake Erie protected for generations to come, to fighting the opioid crisis that has devastated our communities — because I’ve watched him achieve results in Congress,’ Ms. Kaptur said. ‘He’s spent his life fighting for Ohio’s working families, and our state will be better off with him continuing that fight for all of us in the Senate.’”
