The Baptist Ministerial Alliance of Columbus and Vicinity endorsed Tim Ryan for U.S. Senate in Ohio today.
“The Baptist Ministerial Alliance is pleased to endorse Tim Ryan for U.S. Senate today,” said Baptist Ministerial Alliance of Columbus and Vicinity President Jonathan Morehead. “For too long, Black Ohioans have too often been left behind by politicians in Washington. That has to end with this election. It’s time for us to have a voice in the room and at the decision-making table as we work to make sure our government works for our communities and our congregants.”
Tim has a strong record of fighting for equality and justice and reinvesting in communities so that every Ohioan can get back on their feet. As a member of Congress, Tim has voted for legislation to protect and restore access to the ballot box, invest in high-quality public education, and make it easier for minority business owners to access resources they need to compete and succeed.
“Tim Ryan is exactly the kind of fighter we need beside Sherrod Brown in the Senate,” said Rev. Dr. Joel King, Jr. “Tim met with us early and took the time to speak directly to the challenges facing our community here in Central Ohio. This election isn’t just about partisan politics, it’s about who we can trust to show up, listen, and work on our behalf in the Senate. Tim has a long record of doing just that, and we look forward to doing everything we can to elect him to the Senate.”
“I’m honored to have the trust and support of the Baptist Ministerial Alliance of Columbus and Vicinity in the race for U.S. Senate,” said Tim Ryan. “Decades of disinvestment and discrimination have created countless barriers for Black Americans here in Ohio. In the House, I’ve proudly worked to pass legislation to protect the right to vote, reinvest in our communities, help Black-owned businesses succeed and create good jobs and opportunities that allow Black Ohioans the dignity and breathing room they deserve. I started this campaign with a commitment to leave no one behind and always stand up for working people, and I look forward to working with the Baptist Ministerial Alliance to build a bright and fairer future for our state.”
Today’s endorsement comes as Tim has worked to earn the support of Black leaders across Ohio. As he continues to campaign across the state, Tim is committed to regularly engaging with Black voters and highlighting how he will fight for those who have too often been left behind and taken for granted in Washington.
