Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-9) and Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen seeking clarification on the ability of state and local governments to use American Rescue Plan funds for investments in transportation infrastructure and revitalization projects.

"Investing in our nation's transportation infrastructure and revitalizing our communities is necessary to create jobs, grow our economy, and improve quality of life. The American Rescue Plan Act allocated $350 billion in relief funds to state and local governments and further clarity is needed to ensure state and local governments can make needed investments in infrastructure and revitalization projects." said Rep. Meuser.

Background:

Pennsylvania state and local governments will receive $13.7 billion through the American Rescue Plan. The state government is expected to receive $7.3 billion and county and municipal governments will receive $6.1 billion.
