DENVER - Governor Jared Polis released a statement following the sudden passing of Richard Trumka, President of the nation’s labor organization AFL-CIO. 

“Today, our country has lost a towering advocate for working men and women. I’m saddened to hear about the passing of Richard Trumka and send my condolences to his entire family, as well as his brothers and sisters in the labor movement. Trumka dedicated his life to American workers and fought tirelessly for workers' access to safe and equitable working conditions. Trumka will forever be remembered as one of our nation’s most impactful labor leaders. ”
