Governor Polis Appoints Robert C. James to the 13th Judicial District Court

DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis appointed Robert C. James to the 13th Judicial District Court. This vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Kevin L. Hoyer, and the appointment is effective October 1, 2021. 

Mr. James is a Deputy District Attorney in the 13th Judicial District, a position he has held since 2018. His practice consists of criminal and juvenile law. Previously, Mr. James was a Deputy District Attorney in the 19th Judicial District (2004); Deputy District Attorney in the 13th Judicial District (2013-2017, 2004-2006, and 2001-2003); Municipal Judge in Log Lane Village (2009-2013) and Stratton, Colorado (2003-2004); and in private practice (2017-2018, 2007-2013, and 2003-2004). Mr. James earned his B.A. from Colorado State University in 1993, and his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 2001.
