Governor Polis Extends Executive Orders Related to the National Guard & Glenwood Canyon Disaster Declaration

DENVER-  Governor Polis extended two Executive Orders related to the National Guard and the recent mudslides in Glenwood Canyon. 

Governor Polis extended an Executive Order calling certain elements of the Colorado National Guard to state active duty for the purpose of force protection. This Executive Order has been extended by Governors for over a decade.

Governor Polis also extended a disaster declaration in response to the devastating damage from mudslides earlier this summer. The Executive Order extends the Governor's disaster declaration from August 3, 2021 to continue the authorization of unarmed use of the National Guard and extends the suspension of certain procurement statutes.
