HAWORTH, NJ — Today, Sunday, January 2, 2022, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) administered the oath of office virtually for Haworth Councilman Glenn Poosikian and Councilwoman Heather Wasser.

Gottheimer was joined by Haworth Mayor Tom Ference, Council President Dina Siciliano, Councilwoman Jackie Guenego, Councilman Andrew Rosenberg, Councilman Michael Bain, families and friends, and community members in Haworth.

“Haworth is lucky to have Councilman Glenn Poosikian and Councilwoman Heather Wasser as leaders dedicated to making this Borough an even greater place to live, to do business, and to raise a family,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Those taking this oath today have been entrusted with the most fundamental duties of government: making sure our roads are paved, ensuring there is clean water, and keeping our families safe. This is a solemn duty — to govern and to lead — especially today with COVID variants still running rampant, with our economy reopening and small businesses getting back on their feet, our kids back in school, and as we all work to make life more affordable for our families and seniors.”

Gottheimer continued, “Leadership means bringing our community together across party, backgrounds, and any lines that divide us. It means ensuring we have the best law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services, and working together with those you might not always agree with — all with the goal of finding common ground.”

“I can’t think of a time when our district and our town has had such a strong congressman that fights for us,” said Councilman Glenn Poosikian. “Those that receive any literature or listen to the radio, anybody that listens to anything that Josh wanted to do, that he promised, to claw back the tax money that we sent to Washington that doesn’t come back here. I think I can speak on behalf of every one of these councilmembers who receive an email almost daily with programs, federal programs, and with money that we should be applying for. And it doesn’t just end there — he offers himself, his time, and his staff to assist us in trying to get that money back. This is truly a person that has made promises and come through, and we really appreciate that as a small town.”

“Thank you Congressman Gottheimer, it is a privilege to be sworn in by you for a second term, a second time,” said Councilwoman Heather Wasser. “I’m proud to serve in your district and see your unflagging efforts to improve and honor the lives of your constituents. Thank you.”
