KOMO News: Public safety major focus for Democrats, Republicans in upcoming general election

SEATTLE, Wash. — Public safety is proving to be a major focus for democrats and republicans running in two major races for national office, recently seen through their policy agendas and attack ads.

In the race for a senate seat, Republican Tiffany Smiley on Wednesday at a public safety town hall said she's focused on stopping the fentanyl pipeline from Mexico.

“Fentanyl's here. It's in our schools. It's killing our kids. It's not just in our homeless encampments or on the streets in Seattle,” Smiley stated. “It's all over Washington and we know it's coming through our southern border.”
