Washington, D.C. — Rep. Donald M. Payne, Jr. issued the following statement today regarding the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) decision to formally approve the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The action allows millions of Americans to feel safer about getting vaccinated and helps American companies and organizations promote vaccinations to improve worker safety.
“This is great news for my 10th Congressional District and the nation. We need to get more people vaccinated to save lives from COVID-19 and this new Delta variant. I know there were many Americans who waited until the FDA approved the vaccine before they got it, especially in our African-American communities. I got the vaccine as soon as possible to help more district residents trust it. Hopefully, this news will encourage more people to get vaccinated and save lives from this terrible pandemic.”
