It Costs over $2,000,000,000,000 (2 Trillion Dollars) in just salaries, benefits and rent to run the US Government annually…then there are the social programs

According to the Financial Statement of the United States Government for 2020, it cost $7,400,000,000,000 ($7.4 trillion dollars) to operate the Federal Government in fiscal year 2020 – an increase of $2.3 trillion (46.3 percent) from FY 2019. 2021’s budget was higher than that, and 2022’s budget will likely double that of 2021. Left unchecked, the monster that is our federal government will not only go bankrupt, it will sell us all to the Chinese to pay its outstanding debt.

THIS MUST STOP NOW!

The narrative to that Budget written by the Comptroller General of the United States (pages 51-60 of the pdf file, 42-52 on the pages) basically states that the books are unable to be audited due to “Material Weaknesses” and “Disclaimers of Opinion.” Those are defined in the document as follows:

“A material weakness is a deficiency, or combination of deficiencies, in internal control over financial reporting, such that there is a reasonable possibility that a material misstatement of the entity’s financial statements will not be prevented, or detected and corrected, on a timely basis. A deficiency in internal control exists when the design or operation of a control does not allow management or employees, in the normal course of performing their assigned functions, to prevent, or detect and correct, misstatements on a timely basis.”

A disclaimer of opinion arises when the auditor is unable to obtain sufficient, appropriate audit evidence to provide a basis for an audit opinion and the auditor concludes that the possible effects on the financial statements of undetected misstatements, if any, could be both material and pervasive and accordingly does not express an opinion on the financial statements.

In simpler terms, “The books are so screwed up that it is extremely likely there are misstatements, errors, and embezzlement that will never be found (material weakness),” and; “Certain government agencies have refused to cooperate with the audit process, and/or have lost, failed to properly manage, or damaged their financial records (disclaimer of opinion).

If this was a little $50,000/yr company, these statements would be nearly irrelevant. However, in a budget this size with many of the entities falling into these categories the losses must be in the hundreds of millions if not over a trillion. Also, if this was a small company we would fire the bookkeeper immediately! In this case, we give them a bonus, a raise, a huge pension, and an ever bigger budget to steal from.

Lets look at how your money is being spent…

ZipRecruiter says the average Federal Salary is about $110,000/yr

That is just the “Salary” there is also:

Fed FERS Contribution Benefit – 15.5% – $17,205/yr

Average Medical Insurance Benefit – $850/mo = $10,200/yr

Sick Leave Benefit 13 days/yr = $5,500/yr

Vacation Benefit – 11 days/yr = $4,650/yr

Total Average Salary/Benefits Package – $147,555/yr

(benefit info from the Office of Policy Management)

According to The Hill, the Federal Government employs about 9,100,000 workers. They also hire approximately 5.3 Million “…contract and grant employees.” Assuming that “Sub-contractors” earn relatively the same amount, the total payroll for the Federal Government $3,467,542,500,000 ($3.467 Trillion) per year. For people who either can not manage “our books,” or are robbing us blind according to the Comptroller General.

Of course this is far from accurate, but what is a few hundred million ($100,000,000) in numbers like these? I invite anyone to rebuild all of this info with more precise data. The numbers will only go up.

Even worse than the ridiculous spending represented by these numbers, is the unilateral and unaccountable power these agencies have to enact laws and extract fees or fines from you.

We must stand together, “All for One and One For All” to stop the out of control spending and regulation that is killing our economy and the very fabric of this Nation. I have plans for legislation that will bring this power and money back to the state and local level.
