From a young age, Amy witnessed the positive impacts that community-minded people put into making Salem/Keizer a great place to live and raise a family. Though she enjoyed traveling as a young adult, as a single mother, she chose the Salem/Keizer area to raise her two sons.
It became clear to her, even then, that the government often makes raising children and earning a living more expensive and difficult than it needed to be.
