Chris Pappas for Congress: Statement on Executive Council Majority Rejecting $27 Million in Federal Vaccination Funds

New Hampshire

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) released the following state after a majority on the New Hampshire Executive Council voted down $27 million in federal funding intended to bolster the state's COVID-19 vaccination efforts:

"Today an extreme majority on the Executive Council ignored science and public health while taking a dangerous political stand against federal funding for vaccinations. New Hampshire has fallen behind other New England states in vaccinations, and rejecting these funds puts the health, well-being, and livelihoods of our families at risk. When I voted to send these funds to New Hampshire through the American Rescue Plan Act, I did so because we knew that the surest way out of this pandemic was through vaccinations and every resource would be needed to help Granite Staters get their shot. That remains true today, and the failure of the majority on the Executive Council to act in the people's best interests moves us further away from fully overcoming this pandemic."
