Governor Polis Announces Applications are Open for CU Regent

COLORADO SPRINGS - Following the resignation of University of Colorado Regent Chance Hill, Governor Jared Polis announced that the administration will be accepting applications for individuals who live in the 5th Congressional District for the position.

 “We welcome all eligible applicants to apply for this amazing opportunity to serve our state and fellow Coloradans. The CU System and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs are well-positioned to help prepare students for success and become an even bigger economic engine for our state,” said Gov. Polis. 

About the CU Regents: 

The University of Colorado Board of Regents consists of nine members serving staggered six-year terms, one elected from each of Colorado's seven congressional districts and two from the state at large. The board is charged constitutionally with the general supervision of the university and the exclusive control and direction of all funds of and appropriations to the university unless otherwise provided by law.

Individuals must reside in Colorado's 5th Congressional district

The individual will serve until a new regent is elected in 2022

Position requires a time commitment of 10-15 hours/week on average or 20-35 hours/week when serving as chair of the board

6 regular meetings and with the possibility of 4 additional “hold” dates for special meetings

Additional days as required 

CU Regent is an unpaid position
